Assistant Manager of Match Support

Big Sister Association is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team. As a Big Sister staff member you will contribute to a mentor-rich community in which every girl has access to the individual nurturing, guidance and support she needs to become a confident, competent and caring adult.

Reporting to the Director of Match Support, the Assistant Manager of Match Support is responsible for working with the Director to oversee all aspects of service delivery, ensuring that the department achieves its annual growth and quality goals through department leadership, program administration and intra-agency collaboration.

Responsibilities:

Leadership:
.     Work with Director of Match Support to interview, hire, and train staff
.     Supervise staff, including:
.     Provide ongoing coaching, corrective feedback and professional development support
.     Coordinate, monitor and evaluate workload and performance
.     Conduct staff performance evaluations
.     Work collaboratively with Director of Match Support, Manager of Enrollment and Matching and team members to meet departmental goals
.     Attend management meetings
.     Work collaboratively with others to lead strategic planning initiatives for the department
.     Provide collaborative support to other programs as assigned
.     Ability to give and receive constructive feedback

Program Management:

In collaboration with Director of Match Support:
.     Oversee all aspects of the match support process for Big and Little Sisters in the Community-Based Mentoring program
.     Accountable for department performance
.     Monitor operational effectiveness using work flow and tracking systems, track performance & develops measures to ensure growth, minimize risk and meet annual department matching goals.
.     Oversee quality assurance activities, including, but not limited to surveys, evaluations, and case reviews.
.     Develop, implement and evaluate new program models as indicated
.     Integrate new research-based best practices into agency
.     Provide data and content for fundraising grants and reports; and newsletters, e-communications and other marketing materials as needed
.     Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
.     Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a social or human science, such as social work, sociology or psychology. Master's degree and/or LICSW preferred
.     Experience as a supervisor, preferably in social service or youth development role
.     Skilled at providing customized direction, coaching, and customer service
.     Ability to work with all departments, diverse team and clients, and demonstrated skills with working with multi-cultural populations
.     Leadership skills-demonstrated initiative to identify problems and opportunities with feasible recommendations for action
.     Highly organized and flexible in a dynamic environment
.     Ability to multi-task in deadline-driven situations
.     Strong commitment to and understanding of issues relevant to girls and women
.     Commitment to goals and mission of the Big Sister Association of Greater Boston
.     Flexible schedule and ability to work evenings and weekends
.     Fluency in Spanish (writing, reading, and speaking) preferred but not required
