Art Resource Collaborative for Kids (ARCK) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that offers arts integration programming to K-8 students in Boston public schools. ARCK uses art as a vehicle to enhance the academic experience of our students while focusing on developing cultural diversity, identity, civic engagement, social justice, and leadership skills and concepts. Our classes align with academic content and learning themes specific to our partner schools and classrooms as well as the Common Core Curriculum and National Visual Art Standards.

ARCK seeks a full-time Development & Marketing Assistant who will assist ARCK’s executive director with communication efforts to potential and current donors, grantmakers, and the public. Since ARCK is a small organization, the Development & Marketing Assistant will need to assume a broad range of responsibilities, each of which will take less time than they would in a larger organization.

ARCK’s Development & Marketing Assistant will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Communicate with donors, sponsors, and other supporters to convey ARCK’s mission and impact via avenues such as email newsletters, annual reports, corporate sponsorship brochures, and other marketing collateral, working closely with ARCK’s executive director, graphic designer, and program coordinator.

  • Coordinate logistics of annual fundraising gala in October, as well as other special events, through tasks that include developing planning timelines and tracking/reaching out to guests, vendors, and volunteers.

  • Maintain ARCK’s online presence by updating Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram as well as WordPress website and blog.

  • Research funding opportunities, manage grant application timeliness, and occasionally help write short grant proposals.

  • Assist with recruitment effort for interns including interviewing, scheduling, following up, and updating postings on job search websites.

  • Other duties as may be determined by the Executive Director.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and previous office experience

  • Passion for the arts as an empowering educational tool

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience

  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks/goals

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Proactive approach to problem-solving

  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and responsibilities, and work well with others

  • PC, Mac, and web literacy, Google Drive and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) a must

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience in marketing, fundraising, event planning, or nonprofit administration,  preferably in arts and/or education

  • Comfortable working with those from different backgrounds

  • Creative, motivated, dynamic and outgoing individual

  • Familiarity with graphic design programs such as Adobe Photoshop, and web design tools such as WordPress and Google Analytics

  • Familiarity with databases such as Salesforce
