Freelance Nonprofit Grant Writer Job Description
Outdoor Adventure Unlimited [OAU] is a new 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization with the mission to give low-income students greater access and opportunity to engage the world through outdoor education and travel. The goal of OAU is to encourage and empower its adventurers' education, recreation, cultural connection, global awareness & civic engagement. In our organizations infancy, we are looking for the right talented and driven individual to work with us as our first Freelance Nonprofit Grant Writer:
· Familiarize themselves with an organization's programs, goals and financial needs.
· Review a predetermined list of potential funding sources and perform additional research
· Develop, compose and submit proposals to meet the appropriate deadlines of the targeted proposals
· Keep careful records to track their proposals/applications, promptly responding to OAU of foundation requests for additional information as need
Bachelor's degree in communications, English, Education, and/or professional writing with a college or university certificate in grant writing, graduate programs in nonprofit management is preferred. Outstanding grammar and research skills are essential. Certification by the American Grant Writers' Association (AGWA) or the Grant Professionals Association (GPA), American Association of Grant Professionals (AAGP) or the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) is ideal.
Offering a competitive hourly pay rate commensurate with experience for 50 hours of estimated work time. Additional opportunities may be available based on performance.
