Title: Marketing and Communications Manager

Reports to: Chief Operating Officer

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Marketing and Communications Manager plans, develops and executes all of the communications, marketing and public relations programs and strategies for the Foundation, ensuring consistency of messaging across all marketing and communications collateral to build the Foundation’s brand. This role provides a full spectrum of strategic and tactical opportunities, including the coordination and execution of all of the advertising, direct mail, PR, program marketing, social media and other promotional activities of the Foundation. This position will be responsible for the creative process including some graphic design work. This role serves as the communications and marketing resource for the entire organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Marketing, Communications and Public Relations:

• Oversees and responsible for annual marketing strategy and communication plan- including, but not limited to writing and distribution of Foundation content including e-newsletters, press releases, op-eds, e-blasts/email marketing
• Production and oversight of all marketing materials (ex. brochure, town fund materials, annual report- physical and digital) including graphic design
• Develop and edit all copy for communications pieces
• Ensures consistency of messaging across all marketing and communications collateral to maintain and build the Foundation’s brand
• Oversees all content creation and messaging across all mediums:
  o Foundation website
  o Social Media- Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn
  o Press releases
• Support Town Funds boards regarding communications and marketing needs that include press releases, collateral, website, social media, etc.
• Acts as the primary point of contact and project manager for engagements with outside vendors
• Supports the development and program team as needed
• Oversee and develop the communications materials for promoting events and event content, including photography and videos
• Create and work with graphic designers as necessary to a brand for the major events and ensure the brand is carried through all materials, including the save the date, invitation, event program, and all other materials
• Develop all communications materials for promoting events and event content, including photography and videos
• Create communications calendar for and promote all Center for Philanthropy Education events and grantmaking programs
• Manage event calendar and online community calendar
• Support the development and program team as needed

Organizational Relationships
• Reports to the Chief Operating Officer
• Works with the Manager of Annual Fund and Events regarding major events of the Foundation
• Works closely with all Board and Staff to ensure that the Foundation’s message is effectively spread
• Works with outside vendors- graphic designers, video producers, printers, photographers, videographers, etc. as necessary

Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in marketing/communications/public relations (3-5 years)
- Outstanding writing and editing skills
- Graphic design skills, InDesign preferred
- Knowledge of the media industry and ability to stay on top of market changes
- Creative and innovative thinker
- Excellent time and project management skills
- Strong work ethic
- Ability to work with various vendors and outside constituents
- Self motivated, detail oriented, focused, ambitious
- Professional demeanor, team player, positive attitude
- Ability to prioritize, juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Use resources effectively
- High degree of proficiency with MS office
