The Program Manager creates and executes curriculum, and provides audio and video technical instruction and operations management for The Loop Lab.

About The Loop Lab

At the Loop Lab, located on 872 Massachusetts Ave., 1-5, Cambridge, MA, we believe in “remixing” the digital economy. Our mission is to equip young people from underrepresented backgrounds with the tools to express themselves creatively, and to provide an “on-ramp” to the digital economy. We plan to do this in several ways, including through a workforce development program.

PROGRAM MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversees all aspects of programming and instruction in audio/video recording and editing
  • Designs and implements curriculum
  • Keeps up with current developments in the field of audio and video production
  • Manages program assistants and interns, as required
  • Collaborates with clients, producers, performers, and other stakeholders to determine and achieve the desired sound for a production, such as a musical recording, podcast, or a film
  • Prepares equipment for recording sessions
  • Provides high-quality mixing and mastering services to both classroom projects and larger projects
  • Regulates volume level and sound quality during recording sessions, using control consoles
  • Maintains neat and accurate records of design execution for a given production
  • Assists in the maintenance and installation of all sound equipment
  • Maintains the organization and cleanliness of all booths and equipment
  • Other duties as assigned



• Excellent Mixing Board skills for non-musical and musical productions

  • Experience in teaching, including curriculum development
  • Experience working with youth ages 18-24 preferred
  • Knowledge of professional sound systems design
  • Basic troubleshooting skills for medium- and large-scale professional sound systems
  • Basic knowledge in A/V technology and equipment
  • Basic audio equipment maintenance skills
  • Computer skills, preferably both Macintosh and Windows environments
  • Software: knowledge of a variety of platforms including Ableton, Pro Tools, Audition, Logic
  • Patience, ability to work under pressure, and adherence to The Loop Lab code of conduct is important.

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED: 3+ years of work experience in the Audio and Video field and/or Education in either collegiate or professional environments OR Undergraduate Degree in Audio Production (flexible)


Compensation will be competitive with similar positions throughout the country. The range of benefits includes medical insurance and 403(b).
