With an annual budget of $6 million, BCNC is looking for a professional to join a dynamic development team.

Reporting to the Director of Development, the Manager of Institutional Giving is responsible for supporting the achievement of BCNC’s annual fundraising goals through successfully securing grants from corporate, foundation, and government sources. The Manager will also supervise a development associate or intern to support fundraising from institutions. A successful applicant will be able to work collaboratively with programs directors, finance staff, and executive team to strategize, develop, and submit proposals as well as manage the relationships with funders. As a member of the development team, the position will be asked to assist in additional tasks to achieve overall department goals.  The position is open starting July 1, 2019.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and collaborate with program directors on writing, developing, and submitting grants proposals
  • Research prospective funding opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies
  • Develop and maintain relationships with funders
  • Create work plans and coordinate grant submissions
  • Draw reports for grant pipeline review and assessment
  • Track grants, report submission and status, maintain database and organize funders’ communications

Skills and Experience Required:

  • B.A or B.S. required
  • One to three years of proposal or relevant writing experience and strong proposal development skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong planning and organizing skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to connect and build positive relationships with funders and staff
  • Capacity to work well independently and take initiative as well as to collaborate with colleagues
  • Flexibility
  • Innovative and strategic thinker
  • Understanding of public/private and government funding processes
  • Experience with data systems, outcome measurement, and evaluation
  • Proficiency in Windows environment, MS Office and fundraising software such as Raiser’s Edge
