Funding Equal Access to Essential Support Services

Eastern Bank Charitable Foundation focuses giving on supporting organizations that provide services to the underserved and neediest members of our community. We work to ensure that all our neighbors have equal access to employment, education, healthcare, housing, childcare, healthy meals and other essential support services.

Our goal is to support impactful organizations across our geographic footprint, contributing to the health and vitality of the communities we serve. We prefer to make smaller grants rather than a few large ones to increase the number of organizations and communities served.  To see a list of organizations we supported at the $1,000 level and above in 2016, click here.

In 2016, we made grants totaling over $7 million to charitable organizations throughout eastern MA and coastal and southern NH. The grants range in size from $100 to $50,000.

Available Grants
Our Charitable Foundation accepts four types of grant requests as described in “Grant Programs”:

  • Community Grants
  • Partnership Grants
  • Targeted Grants
  • Neighborhood Support
